Boat Club over the Summer holidays 2009

The Boat Club had continued success over the summer. Francis Highton completed his year as Captain of Boats by being selected for the Top boat for Great Britain at the Coupe de la Jeunesse, where he won a gold medal. At the Great Britain – France match for Under 16’s, Hampton had three representatives. Jack Walker and Oleg Iseav were in the coxless pair, their victory completing the match win for GB. Bruno Hallwood coxed the eight which won the final race of the day and sealed the boys team trophy.

At the National Rowing Championships, Jack and Oleg won the Junior under 16 coxless pairs and there was also great success for the Under 15 coxed quad. In the final they beat Windsor Boys who won National Schools by over 10 seconds, congratulations to Sebastian Gordon-Smith, Oliver Dent, Ben Rossington, James Trevithick and the cox Will McDermott. This is the first time Hampton has ever won this category.
