A message from the Head of Fourth Year: Mr R J Davieson
4 September 2009
Dear Parent
I am writing to introduce myself as Head of Fourth Year. I shall remain as your son’s Head of Year throughout the Fourth Year and Fifth Year, as will the Form Tutors. The Forms and Tutors are as follows:
4A Mr J Sarpong
4B Mrs A McLusky
4C Miss S Roberts
4D Mr J Owen – Assistant Head of Year for forms 4A – 4E with Mr S Wakefield shadowing.
4E Miss D Woodward
4F Mrs A Boulton
4G Miss C King
4H Mr R Kothakota – Assistant Head of Year for forms 4F – 4J with Mrs H Berrow shadowing.
4J Mr F Chaveneau.
May I remind you that your normal point of contact for daily routine matters will be the Form Tutor. If you do have further concerns, then please do contact the appropriate Assistant Head of Year, or myself. I am keen to have as much contact with parents as is reasonably possible and do believe that open communication is important.
At the end of last year, I gave the whole Year Group a presentation on my expectations for the Fourth Year which I emailed to you and I would encourage you to take time to ask your sons about this, so that the boys are discussing expectations with you and are getting the same messages from home as well as from School.
With the help of my Assistants and the other Form Tutors, I shall be monitoring the academic, social and behavioural progress of the boys very closely, with a view to preparing them thoroughly throughout the next two years, leading to their GCSE examinations. As well as the normal reporting sessions – (Grade Cards and written reports), I shall endeavour to give you additional feedback when appropriate.
Your sons should have already given you a copy of this term’s School Calendar. Please use this to find out about any events that are taking place. Of course, more information about various events will be sent nearer the time. I am also attaching a copy of the Fourth Year Homework Timetable. Your son has his own personal homework timetable written into his School Calendar. Very shortly, I shall write to you again with all of the relevant GSCE coursework details and deadlines.
If there is anything you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact your son’s Form Tutor, the Assistant Head of Year, or, of course, myself.
Yours faithfully
Richard Davieson
Head of Fourth Year
