About the CCF
The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) is a Ministry of Defence sponsored youth organisation. Its aim is to provide a disciplined extra-curriuclar association in schools to help pupils develop powers of leadership, by means of training, to promote the qualities of “responsibility, self reliance, resourcefulness, endurance and perseverance". It is not a pre-service organisation, although it acknowledges that one of its objectives is "to encourage those who have an interest in the services to become Officers of the Regular or Reserve Forces.”
At Hampton the CCF is made up of male cadets from Hampton School and female cadets from the next door ‘Lady Eleanor Holles’ School.
The CCF is totally voluntary and cadets may join the Army Section or the RAF Section from the 4th year onwards. Parades are on Friday evenings from 1620 - 1730 and there is a field day in the Spring and Autumn terms.
At present there are 95 cadets in the Army Section and 75 cadets in the RAF section.
