Extra Curricular Activities

The Department has a wide range of activities suited to all levels and all styles of music making. In addition to the main regular rehearsals listed below, there are numerous other smaller scale ensembles; string quartets, trios, wind ensembles and brass ensembles which rehearse regularly. These are organised by the Head of Strings, Elizabeth van Ments, and the Head of Woodwind, Joanna Estall. The provision of Chamber Music is fundamental to the life of the Department, and is strongly supported.

In addition, a number of rock bands have recently made extremely good progress, and the Department is committed to providing them with time and facilities to rehearse.

The Choral Society, which includes members of the Chamber Choir, Parents, Staff and friends of the School, rehearses in the evenings and at weekends.
