ICT Facilities

The School is undergoing a period of growth in terms of its ICT facilities.
All computers are networked allowing the boys to access their work anywhere on the School site. This also allows the ICT department to monitor and protect the boys while they are using the computers and the internet.

The boys have access to over 200 network computers:
At present there are 5 Network suites which can be used by the boys in lessons.

• 2 X 30 computers - able to accommodate any class in the School
• 4 X 20 computers - one being able to double up as a conference facility
• 3 X 15 specialist IMAC suites
• School library – 20 computers

Also:

• Careers Room with accompanying network suite
• Film Making Club - a specialist suite for film editing and production.
• 3 ICT suites are open every lunchtime - while the other suites are used for extra lessons and extra curricular activities.
• Lecture Theatre is used for presentations and meetings.

Classroom facilities
Over 85% of Classrooms have projectors with an increasing number of Interactive Whiteboards being installed.  This number is growing all the time.

School Network
Students and Staff have remote access to the network via the School’ ‘Portal’.  This allows students to access their user areas, School Intranet and subject specific software.
The whole School is covered by a Wireless Network, primarily this is used by staff but this will be expanded to students in the near future.
