Welcome to the Hampton School Parents’ Association (HSPA)

The HSPA is a great way for parents to get to know each other and the School and we warmly encourage you to get involved. Everyone’s help is invaluable!

The Association provides a link between parents and the School and gives parents an opportunity to socialise as well as raising funds for extra facilities and items for their sons.

All parents automatically become members of the HSPA when their son joins Hampton. The ‘one off’ joining subscription is included in the first term’s fee and covers any siblings who subsequently join the school. We are a registered charity and therefore can claim back £7.50 on everyone’s subscription fee so please complete the Gift Aid form to enable us to do this.

A considerable sum of money is raised during the academic year, primarily from the main social events and Second Hand Uniform sales.

The Committee

The HSPA is run by elected parent members alongside members of staff and the Headmaster, who serves as President. New parent committee members are always welcome.  Please contact the secretary if you are interested in joining the committee. Committee meetings are held twice a term. Current Committee

Form Representatives
Each form has one or more form representatives who act as a communication link with the HSPA. This is a purely voluntary role and there are no strict rules for what is required of a rep. Some reps organise social events for the parents and for the boys (separately of course!) and these are a good way for parents to get to know their son’s new friends and classmates  and for the boys to have some fun together outside the school environment.  Current Class Reps

Our main events

The HSPA organises welcome evenings for parents of new pupils (details below) plus one major social fundraising event eachterm.  We hope you will come to these as they are great fun and provide considerable profits to be spent on our “Wish List”.

Quiz Night
In the autumn term, usually in November, we traditionally hold a Quiz Night.  Tables of up to eight parents compete head to head against staff teams in a very enjoyable, but nevertheless toughly fought contest.  This is always a sell-out event so book early to avoid disappointment!

Spring Event

This year's Spring Party had a sporting theme in celebration of the forthcoming Olympics, though also acknowledging the Ancient Greek Games.  Fancy dress was as imaginative as ever:

Summer Fair
We end the summer term on a high with the annual summer event on the School fields.  Again the format has varied over the years. Over the past few years we have run a very enjoyable Summer Fair for parents, staff and pupils. Year 1, 2 and 3 boys have the opportunity to raise money for their Form Charity running their own stalls. With a BBQ , beer tent, live music and a variety of external stalls this always proves a very popular event. New boys and their parents are also warmly welcomed.

Parents’ Social Evenings
The HSPA organises a series of Parents’ Social Evenings to help parents get to know each other. These are for parents of First Year boys and parents of Third Years following the re-arrangement of all the classes.

Wish List

The funds the HSPA raises are used to provide additional equipment and support for the boys. Staff and pupils submit requests to our “Wish List” that are discussed and hopefully approved by the Committee.
School UniformSecond Hand Uniform Sales

The HSPA regularly organise a second hand uniform sale - an opportunity to off load outgrown, but good condition, uniform and sports kit allowing parents a chance to replace or upsize clothes or kit. A percentage of the sales price for each item goes to the HSPA for spending on things for the school.
