The aim of HSMS is to support and enhance the School’s well-deserved reputation for musical excellence, variety and fun. Membership is made up of parents of boys who study and perform music of all kinds at the School.
HSMS members receive a regular newsletter with photos and reviews, reminders of musical events and early notice of ticket sales. Occasional social events are arranged. Please have a look under the

How to join the Music Society
Members are also very welcome to join the HSMS Committee which meets twice a term. We assist at performances and host events in order to raise extra funds for the Music department.

DIARY OF MUSIC EVENTS >> Summer Term 2012
All concerts are open to parents and friends of the school. Join the Music Society and support the School’s musicians.
Concerts at Hampton are recorded regularly. Boys can bring in USBs and upload any recording from the Music Department's Macs. Please check with Kay Ford or Iain Donald.
Choral Society Rehearsal Schedule
All welcome, no auditions. If your son or daughter is in the Choir or Orchestra, take this opportunity to perform with them. Music will be provided free of charge. Refreshments are provided at all rehearsals. Rehearsals will be at The Lady Eleanor Holles School.
- Sunday rehearsals are from 2.30 – 4.30pm
- Weekday rehearsals are from 7.00 – 9.00pm
Over the years the Music Society has paid for many of the extras which go towards making music at Hampton what it is today; from the smallest cello anchors, right up to the Steinway Grand Piano which the 450 Hall proudly shows off at our regular concerts.
We kitted out the bar as part of our contribution to the build of the 450 Hall, and provided funds for orchestra stands and chairs in the same year. The list of items provided by the Music Society is getting longer and longer and we extend a huge thank you to all our members for helping to raise so much.
Music is for all members of the school community and because of our endeavours, there really is something for everyone to enjoy.
Hampton and Lady Eleanor Holles Choral Society
The Joint Choral Society is a choir of over 100 singers made up of pupils, parents, staff and friends of the two schools. There are no auditions – we only ask that you try to attend as many rehearsals as possible. (The pupils usually rehearse separately in school time until near the performance date).
This is an ideal opportunity for parents, staff and friends to meet regularly in a relaxed atmosphere for rehearsals and ultimately to join the children in making music in a formal concert.
Rehearsals are informal and fun, and there are no auditions to join.

Concert Recordings
Most concerts in the 450 Hall are being recorded to a high standard. If you are interested in obtaining an audio CD of a concert (for the modest charge of £5), please contact Kay Ford in the Music Department.
