Art Awards
The School’s purpose in offering Art awards is to encourage boys with artistic talent to develop and fulfil their potential as well as to contribute creatively to the School’s artistic life.
Art Scholarships may be awarded to suitable candidates from primary and preparatory schools. Art assessments will be held in early February for 11+ candidates and for 13+ candidates.
Assessment Procedure
On the day of assessment applicants will be asked to bring along:
• a folder of recent work containing no more than ten examples of two dimensional work
• any sketchbook work they may have done
• and photographs of any three dimensional work.
There will be a short test when candidates will be asked to make a drawing and/or painting from direct observation, followed by an informal interview giving boys the opportunity to talk about the work that they have brought with them. The candidate’s Headteacher will have supported the application.

• An Art award can only be made to a candidate who reaches a qualifying academic standard in the
appropriate entrance examination.
• Candidates for 11+ entry must be under 12 years of age on 1 September
• Candidates for 13+ entry must be under 14 years of age on 1 September
