Christopher Breeze impresses judges at the Croydon Music Festival.
Fourteen year old Christopher took the the intermediate organ prize at the 2010 Croydon Music Festival.
Christopher learns the organ at Hampton School and is also Organ Scholar at St Mary the Virgin Parish Church in Twickenham. Previously he was head chorister at Hampton Court Palace.
“I am delighted to win the award,” said Chris. “It has been a great experience to play the organ at Twickenham, and discover the versatility of this instrument.”
Chris follows a distinguished line of organ scholars at Hampton School, which also produced Tim Lambourn and Lawrence Thain, now organ scholars at Cambridge and Oxford.
Both Tim and Lawrence are also former winners of the Croydon award won by Chris this year.The Festival, which was established in 1990, attracts an international field, with entrants from as far away as France and China.
