Hampton rock band takes home the honours.
The band, Storm, win West London music festival.
Storm is made up of 5 boys from the Fourth and Fifth year: Alex Rodzianko,
Sam Ellwood
. Ed Briggs
, Calum Wilmot and James Lack.
The band, which started in 2009, entered a 'battle of the bands' competition at this year's Grovestock Festival, in Chiswick. Watched by an audience of over 300, the boys were up against 40 other music acts and judged by a professional, music industry panel.
Storm won both the Best Band and Best Overall Performance categories, taking home a cash prize, a trophy and an invite to play a full half hour set at the event next year.
Alex Rodzianko, who plays lead guitar for the band, said it was a fantastic experience:
As part of winning the competition we were given an evening slot to perform on the main stage of the Festival which was great fun. Now we are really looking forward to playing a full set, of our own material, next summer. The judges' comments were really positive and encouraging and it has given the whole band great confidence boost
