Harry Baker impressed professional musicians and audience with his recent performance of Bach’s Keyboard Concerto.

Talented young pianist, Harry, played to an audience of over 400 at this year’s Children’s Concert by the Woking Symphony Orchestra.

Harry, who is in the Third Year at Hampton, has already been an orchestral pianist with Woking on several occasions since the age of ten but this was his first solo appearance. Conductor, Roy Stratford, was very impressed:

Harry Baker gave a  brilliant and confident performance of Bach's D minor Keyboard Concerto. Playing as a soloist demands a different approach and, under the pressure of a completely packed house and the possible distraction of a not completely silent audience, many of whom were children, Harry was magnificent and his extremely clear and well articulated Bach playing was a joy to behold. We will have him back!

Harry has already been asked to do a repeat performance of the piece. Director of the Ashford Baroque Ensemble, Philip Buckmaster, has asked Harry to perform the Bach Concerto on the harpsichord at a recital on 13 February.

Assistant Director of Music at Hampton School, Mr Chris Dawe, says Harry has lot to be proud about:

Harry is a gifted musician and playing with such established and prestigious orchestras is quite something for a 13 year old.
